I Support the Black Out Strike to Fight SOPA/PIPA

January 18, 2012

… but I don’t know how to black out my blog. I looked at the website and saw words like “java” and “theme” and we all know that Spencer and Alison take care of those things for me… and I didn’t move fast enough on this to have them help me because I can’t hear out of my left ear and last night I kind of cried because I was so frustrated about being sick for THE THIRD TIME SINCE JULY.* But censorship is bad, get that, five people reading my blog?

I’m also really disappointed in sites run by far more technically savvy people who didn’t want to lose a day of revenue over this situation. They’re going to lose a lot more revenue if this shit passes.

*Rumor has it this is typical for people who start working in a hospital for the first year. All I know is if I wash my hands anymore than I do now they’re probably going to have a sequel to The Boy Who Couldn’t Stop Washing and call it The Girl Who Used ALL the Paper Towels. I’m developing a phobia regarding doorknobs.

It’s supposedly standard for newbies to hospitals, childcare/schools & call centres to catch every single bug under the sun in their first 1-2 years of working there. Apparently it pays off because after that you become immune to EVERYTHING & never ever get sick again. I can’t verify this with personal experience as I never stayed at any call centre long enough to get immune (just long enough to catch half a million viruses), but all my childcare & teacher friends swear that it’s true!
