Every once in a while you might stumble upon that list of the top five to ten stressors that can impact your health and well-being. Along with death and having a baby you’ll find: changing jobs/occupations, moving house, and getting married. We’ve hit the stressor triple crown in the Patterson King house in the past few months, and we’re just starting to see the light at the end of the transition tunnel.
I don’t actually want to paint this in a negative light, I’m one of those strange people who really welcomes and embraces change as a positive thing (as Lennon and McCartney wrote, there’s “nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be” ) and while I could have done without some of the tossing and turning the past few months (I struggle with patience), I feel as though everything that has happened since January has happened for a reason. I do apologize that my poor blog has been a bit neglected since it all started, but hopefully we’re getting to a point where things will return to a state of normal – albeit a new state of normal.
So, Yes! I have a new job! Which means my “about me” page needs to be updated.
Yes! We’re getting married! Which would be a lot less stressful without the, seemingly inevitable, family drama that comes along with getting married.
Yes! We are moving! Not to New England, but to the mountains where I am told we will have actual, real SNOW for about a month out of the year!
We’re still trying to find a place to live, and we’re moving the week after we get back from the wedding… and we leave for the wedding in 2.5 weeks… and I need to pack pretty much the entire house before we leave… but it’s all going to be okay – all you need is love, and we certainly have that.
p.s. I’ll write more about this next week in an official Fit Friday post, but I haven’t stopped the fight and I have exciting news about my weight loss progress.
